Can’t believe it’s August!
Posted on August 5, 2010
It has been far too long since I blogged but life has been busy, busy, busy and I’m still catching up! I’ll start with sharing a few shots from a recent shoot with a gorgeous family. These two sisters are adorable and were so beautifully behaved for the photo shoot, in fact I think big sister is destined for stardom! Will be updating more over the next few weeks, watch this space!

The big one has half term so in an attempt to keep both of my girls entertained this week I am totally exhausted, so just a few photos for this entry.

Growing up…
Posted on May 26, 2010
My baby will be 3 next month and starting pre-school in September, knowing how quickly it took for the big one to get to age 7, I’m enjoying every moment whilst I have her at home. Imogen is at that adorable age, she’s discovering speech, she waves at people we don’t know, lets me dress her how I want to and she tells me I’m the ‘best mummy in the world’, (and always at the perfect moment when I need reminding how lucky I am). I would bottle her if I could.
Here are some photos I took yesterday in the garden when my mum came to visit.

I think they are discussing shoes….

Summer really has arrived! Woo hoo!

Blimey we deserve some decent weather and the last few days have been fabulous. We normally go to gymnastics on a Monday but I couldn’t bring myself to put C through it on such a hot day, 30 sweaty kids in a village hall wouldn’t be much fun so we gave it a miss and hung out in the garden instead!

My Brownie…

It must be retro week or something, Imogen my youngest asked to take a photo, so I handed her toy red camera, but no, that wasn’t good enough, instead she wanted to use the vintage Kodak Brownie Holiday Flash made between 1945 – 1962. My mum had one just like this which she took on a school trip to Germany in the 1950’s. I love this camera, it’s mostly just an ornament, (I’m collecting vintage camera’s), but it makes a lovely prop too.

The Egg has landed!
Posted on May 12, 2010
I think I have a bit of an obsession going on at the moment, In the last 2 weeks I have acquired a set of Eames Eiffel Tower Chairs and yesterday my new beautiful egg chair arrived! The original Egg chair was designed by Arne Jacobsen in 1956, but my god the design is simply timeless and fits perfectly into our 1964 Span house, another design classic designed by Eric Lyons in 1964. I’ve had to learn to embrace this period in order for the house to live up to its full potential, Cath Kidston is sadly not for me, well not in this house anyway. The chair has already become the focal point in the room with cats, kids, and grown ups all fighting to enjoy it’s soothing curves. Anyhow, I shan’t witter on any more. Here are some snaps taken of its arrival yesterday.

The sun came out to say hello…
Posted on March 3, 2010
I think it’s fair to say that we’ve had a tough winter weather wise, it’s just been so cold and grey but yesterday was beautiful, the sun came out and we had blue sky! The weather men already warned that it wasn’t likely to last so I wrapped my youngest up and we went for a walk by the river Thames.

We have had practically arctic conditions in the UK this past week and despite all the disruption it has caused we’ve really enjoyed it! lots of snowball fights, snowman making, and igloo construction going on, and there is nothing better than coming in from outside and warming up with hot chocolate! I’ve also been baking muffins and making lots of winter suppers.

Happy New Year! nadia swindell photography – london – surrey – hampshire

After a very groggy start to the day having spent the New Year with friends we managed to drag ourselves out for a walk by the Thames. I’m so pleased we did as it was a beautiful bright New Year day, the light was almost spring like, a good omen for this forthcoming decade I hope.

She is such a gorgeous girl. I can’t imagine her throwing a tantrum or growing up to be 7! Perhaps we can freeze time for a bit!? Cyrus is two next month and I’m quite sad.
